The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has put out the call to all businesses, government agencies and non-profits in the UAE with any bright ideas on how to make transport in Dubai more environmentally friendly.
The Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport, better known as DAST, is an annual outlet for gathering creative solutions to manage the ever-growing threats to the environment posed by the rapid expansion of Dubai.

Now in its 10th year, DAST is split across four major award categories – ‘Mobility Management’, ‘Transport Safety’, ‘Environment Protection’ and ‘Transport for People of Determination’ – with prizes of up to Dhs30,000 up for grabs for those who come up with the most creative solutions.
Previous winners have included everyone from Emirates Airlines and Dubai Municipality to university students and a car rental company, showing the true range of unique ideas submitted to the competition.
Awards are also handed out to special categories for students, media and academics, so you don’t have to be a big corporation to get involved.
You can register your interest now via the official DAST website – but hurry, registration closes on October 15 so you don’t have long.
