A minute's silence to be observed this Thursday for Commemoration Day
Take a moment to remember the fallen soldiers that the day is named after…
An SMS went out this morning from the Martyrs’ Family Affairs Office (MFAO) to asking residents and citizens of the UAE to observe a minute’s silence to help mark Commemoration Day later this week.
Part of #The_UAE_Remembers social media campaign, one minute of silent prayer will be taken at 11:30am on Thursday 30 November to remember the fallen soldiers that the day is named after.
A touching video paying tribute to the men and women who gave their lives for the UAE was also uploaded to the MFAO’s Twitter account:
Commemoration Day – previously known as Martyr’s day – falls alongside two other important dates in the UAE’s calendar, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), also on 30 November, and the 46th UAE National Day on Saturday 2 December.
