Brace yourself for another massive '90s retro festival next year
Who here loves the ’90s?
Back in October The Irish Village was transformed into a retro-tastic throwback to all things ’90s thanks to the Remix 92 festival, where no less than NINE top acts from that decade – from 5ive to Dr Alban to Snap – took the stage to belt out their greatest hits.
Well, it appears that you couldn’t get enough of it, Dubai, because Remix 92 is making a comeback on Friday 2 February 2018, with an equally solid lineup of your favourite retro acts.
Headlining this second go around will be Irish girl group B*witched, best known for their francophone-inspired hit ‘C’est La Vie’. They’ll be sharing top billing duties with S Club 3 (the trimmed-down incarnation of radio and TV sensation S Club 7) and 2 Unlimited, who many of you will no doubt remember from this banger:
Other acts include Liberty X, Black Box, Corona and Urban Cookie Collective, with DJ Tim Cheddar spinning hits from the ’90s and noughties.
The ‘Live on the Lake’ event will once again be covering up the iconic Irish Village lake, transforming it into a massive dancefloor with stage views from both the pub and the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel.
Tickets start at Dhs195 with brunch packages and hotel stays available at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel for those who want to make a day (and night) of it. Oh, and because there are just that many acts performing, doors open at 1pm, so be sure to head down early for maximum nostalgia.
Tickets are available now via the Irish Village website.
In the meantime, here are some of our favourite tracks from the lineup to get you in the mood:
