A mysterious travel-themed restaurant has opened in The Dubai Mall
Sheikh Hamdan was spotted here recently, so it must be good…
Food and travel are two of our very favourite things, so we’re very excited to check out this brand new concept in The Dubai Mall.
Somewhere is a restaurant that recently opened in the mall’s Fashion Avenue. The restaurant’s Instagram account describes it as “a concept celebrating the thrill of travelling and exploring the unknown”.
Which is perhaps why the whole set-up is rather mysterious. Few clues are given on the Somewhere website – it simply reveals a reservation form that says “Let us take you Somewhere”.

Based on the Instagram account, the travel theme continues to unfold once you’re inside the restaurant. It looks like boarding passes and passports have been incorporated into the dining experience.
There’s also a stand of travel books you can flip through for inspiration.
Even the menu seems to be inspired by travel, featuring Middle Eastern dishes with an international twist, like beef shawarma bao, kunafa croissants, and za’atar & cheese cones.
We can’t wait to check it out – and apparently we’re not the only ones. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and noted foodie, was recently snapped here with Uncle Saeed.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned, if a place has the Sheikh Hamdan seal of approval, it’s got to be good…
