Electronic music pioneer Apparat to perform in Dubai next month
He is headlining the Groove on the Grass season closer
Groove on the Grass is consistently one of Dubai’s top dance music festivals, and it’s been having a bumper year so far bringing marquee electronic dance acts like Bonobo and Nicolas Jaar to Dubai’s rave-ready punters.
As its sixth season draws to a close next month, the bimonthly outdoor party plans to go out with a bang, booking German electronic music pioneer Apparat to headline the festival when it returns to the Emirates Golf Club on Friday 4 May for one final hurrah before the summer kicks in.
Born Sascha Ring, Apparat first cut his teeth in the mid ’90s making dance floor-oriented techno, later shifting focus towards the more ambient electronica sounds he’s since become famous for. Fans of Netflix’s time-bending crime series Dark will recognise his song “Goodbye” as that show’s opening intro track.
Ring also makes up one third of the group Moderat alongside the electronic duo Modeselektor, who themselves headlined Groove on the Grass back in December 2017.
Also appearing on the bill are London-based producer Max Cooper, UK electro duo Maribou State, and Aussie duo HVOB who will be performing with a live band.
Tickets are on-sale now and start at Dhs160 from Platinum List, with ‘Bass’, ‘Mids’ and ‘Highs’ table packages available.
