This is a must for cricket fans in Dubai…

Watching sporting events in Dubai can sometimes be better than actually being at the live event itself, what with huge specially built tents, massive screens and passionate fans.

And we think we have found the perfect place for IPL (Indian Premier League) fans as the tournament reaches its climax over the next few days.

The massive ICC Academy at Dubai Sports City has transformed itself into a huge indoor cricket fan park where hundreds of cricket lovers can be in the thick of the action.

The facility, normally used for cricket practice sessions is now home to rows and rows of seats, food stalls, children’s play areas and two huge screens streaming all the IPL matches live.

We couldn’t help take a look before the big weekend kicks off and came away impressed.

Short of going to India for the weekend, this is the next best thing.  With a capacity of 700 and open to fans of all ages, we expect the atmosphere to be electric.

The cricket fan park opens an hour before each game and costs Dh50 which includes a Dh30 F&B coupon.
