The ultimate companion app for cinema-goers in Dubai…

Going to the cinema is the perfect activity for staying out of Dubai’s scorching summer heat. And while there are plenty of options in the city when it comes to choosing where to watch the latest Hollywood blockbuster, it can sometimes be a bit daunting to try and wade through the barrage of screening times and locations.

Cinema UAE is a handy app that puts all the information you need about the country’s various cinemas in one easy-to-find place, so you don’t have to worry about multiple apps or websites.

It shows timings across all seven emirates, for all of the UAE’s leading cinemas, including Novo Cinemas, Vox Cinemas, Reel Cinemas, Cineroyal, CinemaCity, Star Cinemas and more.

Our favourite feature by far is being able to book tickets to a movie screening from within the app itself. Cinema UAE does this by connecting you directly with your chosen theatre’s website, all without having to leave the app.

The convenience of being able to flip between cinemas and timings to easily find a screening that suits you can’t be overstated. And we love that Cinema UAE lets you filter by language or genre, as well as by cinemas located closest to you.

If you’re unsure about which film to watch, Cinema UAE also taps into the vast well of knowledge that is the Internet Movie Database (IMDB), providing useful info like a synopsis, runtime, cast list and a link to the film’s trailer.

Our only gripe is that the app is ad-supported, and those ads can be a tad intrusive when you’re trying to quickly book a screening. Cinema UAE does, however, give you the option to pay Dhs7.30 to have the ads removed which makes navigating the app a much more pleasant experience.
