This means if Eid falls on Friday, June 15, as expected, the holiday will last until Sunday, June 17 (with public sector workers back in the office on Monday).
The exact date is determined by the sighting of the new moon, so we won’t know for sure until Thursday night.
Traditionally, both public and private sector workers receive two to three days off to celebrate Eid Al Fitr. However, as the holiday is expected to fall on a weekend this year, private sector workers may not receive any extra days off.
The holiday for the private sector is yet be announced – but we’ll update you as soon as we know.
