First look: Toy Room is now open at Soho Garden
Frank the Bear is back…
Meydan is becoming quite the party spot. On top of long-serving al fresco super club White Dubai, the openings of Soho Garden, Soho Beach and Drai’s Dubai have made the new nightlife concept the place to be over the last few months.
And there’s now another reason to head to Meydan, as London nightclub Toy Room has just opened its doors. Famous for its lively club nights hosted by the mischievous Frank the Bear, the sleek new space as capacity for an impressive 500 club goers.
The British export first opened in the Al Murooj Rotana back in April 2015, but closed its doors in December last year.
While the Downtown venue was a small, intimate, dimly-lit space, the new Toy Room comes complete with high ceilings and an industrial feel, featuring a central DJ booth surrounded by VIP tables, a dancefloor, neon signs and graffiti murals of famous faces such as Rihanna and Jay Z.
At its new home in Soho Garden, Toy Room will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Bringing a music policy of commercial and hip-hop nights, Monday’s will be dedicated to hip-hop, whereas popular local DJs Junior J, DJ Bliss and Shef Codes will bring open-format tracks to their Thursday and Wednesday nights respectively.
The swanky nightclub is the first indoor venue inside the nightlife complex, but it won’t be the last. An indoor section of Drai’s is expected to open this summer, which will add to the already impressive line-up of places to party at Meydan.
Toy Room, Soho Garden, Meydan, 11pm to late, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, free entry. Tel: (052) 463 3338. Facebook.com/ToyRoomdxb
