New ladies’ nights, live music and the return of Nomad…

Here are five big nights out in Dubai this weekend.

Thursday: Ladies’ night at 1OAK

The recently opened 1OAK is back in Business after Ramadan, and tonight it’s all about hip-hop. Resident DJ Tony Mendes and Brit DJ Asad take up deck duty, and there’s free drinks for ladies from 11pm to 1am.

Friday: Guy Gerber at El Chiringuito

El Chiringuito Dubai is bringing another big-name DJ to its resident day-to-night Friday party, Nomad. This week, DJ and producer Guy Gerber is on deck duty, with resident DJ’s Z0ne+ & Diamond Setter supporting.

Friday: ATB at XL Dubai

If you didn’t manage to secure your spot for the weekly party brunch at Andreea’s, the after party is open to all at Marina nightclub XL next door. This week, producer, DJ and songwriter ATB will be performing live.

Friday: Newton Faulkner at PizzaExpress Live

Popular for his folk-style voice and catching guitar-based hits, British singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner is performing at Business Bay’s PizzaExpress Live. If the name doesn’t ring a bell, perhaps his 2007 hit, ‘Dream Catch Me’, will jog your memory. It debuted in the top 10 in both the UK and Australia, and saw Faulkner become known for his percussive style, guitar-based songs. It’s a highly-anticipated gig, and reservations are essential.

Saturday: Cavalli

Not ready for the weekend to be over? Kickstart your evening with dinner at the upscale Cavalli restaurant, and you’ll be treated to a bottle of Roberto Cavalli vodka in the club afterwards.
