WhatsApp is down for some users in the UAE
The outage appears to have affected a number of countries around the world…
Many UAE residents have been experiencing connection problems with WhatsApp this morning.
Taking to social media to voice their concerns, people are reporting that they have been unable to send and receive messages on the popular messaging app since around 10am on Thursday.

The outage was confirmed by website Downdetector to have affected not only the UAE, but a number of other countries including parts of Europe, Australia and South Africa.
The widespread nature of the outage would seem to indicate that the cause lies with WhatsApp’s servers, rather than any issue with either Du or Etisalat in the UAE, which the Facebook-owned service requires to function.
