Dubai is replacing plastic car registration cards with virtual ones that won't require renewal
The new e-registration service comes into effect from August 1
Is your car registration coming up for renewal? Then we have some good news.
The RTA has announced that Dubai motorists will soon be able to register their vehicles online with no expiry date.
The changes come into effect on August 1 and upon e-registering your car, you’ll be issued a virtual registration card – instead of a physical one – that will be valid for a lifetime and not need to be renewed annually.
We will launch the third and final phase of Vehicle e-Registration on August 1. For more details, visit: https://t.co/OuTQlDLinJ pic.twitter.com/bjgxZRXNCJ

“The customers can issue the lifetime vehicle e-Registration bearing no expiry date, as it will be renewed upon the completion of procedures. The copy of the e-Registration (Vehicle Driving Permit) will be sent to the client via e-mail, and will appear on RTA app.” notes an official statement from Dubai Media Office.
The new e-registration service will be accessible from the beginning of next month through the RTA Dubai app, Dubai Drive app and the RTA website.
