Happy birthday to the ruler of Dubai!

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum celebrated his 69th birthday on Sunday and it appears that he and and some close members of his family are enjoying a little downtime outside of the UAE.

The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai was caught in a candid moment cooking up a prime cut of meat on a BBQ somewhere particularly green, lush and next to a body of water.

The photo was posted to the Instagram account of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, yesterday with the caption: “When you are relaxed, life takes on a different flavour”. A mantra that the Dubai ruler appears to be adhering to with gusto the day after his birthday.

The Crown Prince also shared several videos and photos to his Instagram Stories, showing off the gorgeous scenery where the royal family are currently enjoying their time off.

While it’s currently not known exactly where the royals are travelling, Faz’s Insta video did reveal the following sign – written in English and German – giving us a little clue about their whereabouts.

We also love this bonus shot of HH Sheikh Mohammed cooking up a delicious-looking stew for his family. Clearly he’s a man who enjoys cooking in the outdoors, and that’s something we can all get behind. Happy Birthday to the ruler of Dubai!
