The gesture of friendship between the two countries was part of UAE-China week celebrations…

UAE-China Week is currently underway until Thursday, July 24 and over the weekend Chinese President Xi Jinping was in town on a state visit to help strengthen ties between the two countries.

As a gift to mark the friendship between both nations, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, presented the Chinese President with a purebred Arabian horse while he visited the Presidential Palace on Friday.

The whole exchange was captured in a video which showed the Crown Prince and President Xi touring the stables of the palace where the gift of the elegant horse was unveiled.

“In honor of the historic friendship and strong ties which brought our two countries together, as well as a token of appreciation for how much we respect and value this relationship, we gift Chinese President Xi Jinping one of the best purebred Arabian horses.” noted Sheikh Mohammed in an official statement.

The horse, Gallardo J, is an Arabian purebred born in 2013 with an impressive record. Most notably it is a 2016 Triple Crown Championship winner and also holds championship wins in the European All Nations Cup, the World Gold Championship and Jr. Colt Championship.
