As we head into the hottest part of the summer the last thing anyone expected to wake up to this morning was a downpour.

But that’s precisely what greeted some Dubai residents as parts of the country were hit by rain earlier today.

The main areas that were affected by the inclement weather appear to be Mirdif, Rashidiya and International City.

Many took to social media to post photos and videos of the light downpour, and voice their surprise.
