You can now learn to surf at Dubai's newest water park
Laguna Waterpark offers two new classes for aspiring surfers…
If you’ve ever wanted to ride the crest of a gnarly wave but were afraid to go it alone, then we have some good news.
Laguna Waterpark in La Mer is holding daily stand-up surf lessons where you can hone your skills before heading out onto the open sea. Running daily from 10am to 8pm, aspiring surfers will learn to go from a body board to a proper surfboard, getting all the thrill of riding a real ocean wave along the way.
This is thanks to the water park’s star attraction – the WaveOZ 180 FlowRider (aka the Ultimate Surf Machine), a 180-degree surfing machine that simulates real waves and can be divided into multi-rider options.
For those after more advanced training, World FlowRiding Champion Clayton Baker will also be holding a weekly flowriding class called 180 Flow Club. Taking place every Saturday from 8am to 11am, participants will learn moves unique to flowriding’s mashup of surfing, bodyboarding and skateboarding. 180 Flow Club classes are limited to 20 per session so be sure to book yours early.
Stand-up surfing classes cost Dhs75 per hour, with 180 Flow Club sessions priced at Dhs175. These prices are additional to general admission to Laguna Waterpark.
