Paid parking will be introduced in Barsha Heights this weekend

Paid public parking is set to be introduced in Barsha Heights from November 17, according to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The RTA has signed an agreement with TECOM Group – the area’s developer – to operate the parking spaces.
The zone has been marked as an ‘A Zone’, which means it will be charged at the highest rate in the city, Dhs4 per hour. There’s also an option to pay Dhs2 for half an hour.

“This agreement shall come into effect on Saturday November 17, 2018,” said Osama Al Safi, director of parking at the RTA.
“It stems from RTA’s keenness to improve the parking services all over Dubai and contributes to the desired integrated traffic system, through encouraging people to use public transport modes, and ensuring the smooth flow in parking spaces.”
Barsha Heights, formerly known as Tecom, was one of the last remaining free public parking areas in the city.
Currently, you have to pay for parking in most public parking spaces across Dubai. Zones A, E and G are priced at Dhs4 per hour, zone B at Dhs3 per hour and zones C, D and F at Dhs2 per hour.
