Sponsored: They’re the ride-hailing service that go the extra mile for Dubai residents…
Taking a taxi is one of the easiest ways to get around Dubai, and the Careem app makes it easier than ever to get a ride exactly where you need to go, without the hassle of having to figure out the route with your taxi driver.
But did you know that there are some brilliant extra services Careem offers beyond the standard Lexus trips around Dubai?
Here’s five things you probably didn’t know that are sure to enhance your Careem experience.
1. Careem rewards you every time you ride
If you have an Emirates Skywards, Shukran or Etihad Guest account, be sure to link it to your Careem profile so you can choose to earn reward points every time you take a trip. This benefit is offered across all cities Careem operates in, so you will earn points no matter where you are. They are also partnered with Etisalat, so if this is your mobile provider then link your account and you can choose to earn Smiles points instead. You can then use your points to convert to Careem credit, which equals free or discounted rides.
2. They have bright blue Tesla’s in their fleet
Book an Economy or Business car in Dubai and you might get lucky and have a bright blue Tesla Model S pick you up. At no extra cost, you could be cruising in the back of an electric car, enjoying the silence of the ride and knowing its a more environmentally friendly way to travel.
3. For car owners in Dubai, Careem offers Roadside Assistance too
We all know the hassle of requesting roadside assistance in Dubai, from calling service providers to negotiating service rates, sending WhatsApp location pins, and waiting for your technician to arrive. But more than just a taxi hailing app, through the Careem app you can now order your service at a flat-fee and expect a technician to arrive within an average of 20 minutes (in most areas of Dubai). They can provide an array of services from battery replacement to emergency fuel and tyre repair if a tyre is provided.
4. Careem Kids: the only car service in the UAE to offer child car seats
If you’re off on a family day out, you can book the Careem Kids service, where cars come equipped with a Cybex car seat provided by Mamas & Papas. The seat can be adjusted for newborns and are safe for kids up to four years of age. The great thing is that you needn’t worry about adjusting the seat yourself, Careem Kids captains are trained on how to alter them.
5. They also have a courier service
Got small items you need to deliver across Dubai? Well now you can through Careem Box bike delivery service. It can pick up small items (maximum size 40x40x40) and deliver them to a location of your choice. Just like a regular taxi, you can track your goods and see when they’re delivered. To save you the hassle, Careem Box even offers to purchase items on your behalf, up to Dhs300, which you can then settle upon receipt.
