Thursday, April 25

1. Love caviar? Check out this amazing five-course meal

End the long work week and head to Roberto’s Abu Dhabi and treat yourself to an intimate caviar dinner prepared by renowned Italian chef, Enrico Bartolini. Five dishes revolving around one of the eldest delicacies in the world, caviar, have been designed for this one-night-only occasion that’s complete with champagne pairing.

2. Catch singer, Sami Yusuf at the Emirates Palace

Award-winning singer, Sami Yusuf who is an Elite Ambassador for UN World Interfaith Harmony Week will be holding a special concert in Abu Dhabi at Emirates Palace. The musician is known for his music featuring traditional instruments while his lyrics are inspired by mystical poetry. The singer is in the capital as part of the 2nd Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Festival (OICF) to spread the festival message of tolerance and unity. Friday, April 26

3. Party non-stop at a 12-hour birthday bash

Buddha-Bar Abu Dhabi turns one this Friday and to celebrate, the award-winning venue is hosting a non-stop 12-hour birthday bash. The celebrations begin with the beachside bar and restaurant first-ever brunch at 1pm followed by an after-brunch party with resident artists. DJ Darly, Duo Violins and DJ Ahmet Kilic and more will provide the entertainment with back to back performances until 2am.

4. Check out Yas Marina’s Block Party

Now in its second year running, Block Party will transform the iconic promenade at Yas Marina into a festival. Starting from sundown, you and your friends can dine at a variety of gourmet food stalls, partake in garden games and relax while listening to fresh, live tunes under the stars. Yas Marina’s resident dining hotspots will also remain open. The best bit? The Block Party is free to attend. Parking will be available at Du Forum and buses will shuttle you to the venue. You can also make a day of it and brunch before at Stars N Bars on Yas Marina, Iris on Yas Island or Mr Miyagi’s.

5. See Andrea Bocelli perform

Multi award-winning tenor Andrea Bocelli will be performing in Abu Dhabi for one-night only this Friday. The world-famous classical artist will take to the stage at Yas Island’s du Arena, with tickets priced from Dhs395 for regular tickets, up to Dhs1,295 for VVIP. The 60-year old Italian singer will perform an array of his best-loved hits, as well as some new material. For a complete Italian experience, head to Cipriani after the concert where ticket holders will receive a 20 per cent discount off food and beverages.

Saturday, April 27

6. Go kayaking at Louvre Abu Dhabi

Apart from checking out some fantastic exhibitions and artwork at Louvre Abu Dhabi, you can now kayak here during the weekend. You don’t require any prior experience and you will be accompanied by a professional instructor as you navigate both inside and outside of the spectacular structure. The experience lasts one hour and children aged 6 to 12 are also welcome to participate as they’re accompanied by a parent or guardian.

7. Tuck into some crab at a top pop-up

Love shellfish? Head to Hoi An at Shangri-la Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri this weekend where a seafood four-course set menu awaits. Celebrity chef, Dharshan Munidasa will be at the event that runs throughout the weekend. The chef is known for using high-quality, fresh ingredients paired up with Japanese cooking philosophies. He has created a menu featuring creamy crab liver pâté, rich baked crab, garlic chilli prawn and much more. The menu, priced at Dhs448 per person for a four-course set menu and Dhs598 with wine pairing. Don’t forget to make a reservation as seats are limited.
