What is a gyrocopter?
Invented in 1923, a gyrocopter is similar to a helicopter in that it uses rotorcraft mechanisms to fly, but it’s a smaller aircraft, generally only able to carry one or two passengers. Part of Skydive Dubai, Skyhub organises gyrocopter experiences that see you soaring 1,500 feet above the emirate’s most iconic landmarks.
How can I try it?
Booking your flight can be done online or over the phone, you’ll then need to arrive at the Skydive Dubai base in Dubai Marina 15 minutes before the flight time. Once you’ve signed the agreement, you’ll meet your friendly pilot who will walk you out to the aircraft.
There are three options of gyrocopters, open, semi-open, or closed, you will be asked to choose which you’d like to fly in. Once you’ve chosen, the pilot will give you any important safety information and show you how to buckle up.

What is it like?
The 20-minute flight is a very smooth ride, it’s unlikely you will feel uneasy during any part of the flight, but you can share any concerns with your pilot. As you soar through the sky, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of Bluewaters, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab and Dubai Marina. Prepare to get the most ‘gram worthy photos and videos.
How much does it cost?
The flight is priced at Dhs999 per person. Moments will also be captured by your pilot via GoPro and you have the option to purchase the photos and videos additionally after the experience.
