You can now go kayaking at the Louvre Abu Dhabi
Paddles at the ready…
If you’re into stunning architecture, innovative art and design (and, to be honest, even if you’re not) the iconic Louvre Abu Dhabi is a must-see. And now there’s a whole new way to see it, with the launch of kayaking experiences in the waters around the Louvre.
Not your average kayak tour, you’ll navigate on the Arabian Seas before heading towards the cultural ‘mini-city’ for a closer look.

The kayaking tour requires no prior experience, and you will be accompanied by a professional instructor as you navigate both inside and outside of the spectacular structure. It’s also great for family days out, and children aged 6 to 12 are welcome to participate, so long as they’re accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The one-hour experience is priced at Dhs120, and is available on Fridays and Saturdays between 10am and 5.30pm.
Once you’re back on dry land, explore the rest of the museum on foot. As well as the permanent galleries, until May 18, you can check out Rembrandt, Vermeer & the Dutch Golden Age: Masterpieces from The Leiden Collection and the Musée du Louvre.
The exhibition features rare pieces by renowned artists Rembrandt van Rijn, Johannes Vermeer, Jan Lievens and Carel Fabritius – all of whom produced works of art during the Dutch Golden Age during the 17th century. You can find out more about tickets to see this exhibition here.
Described as ‘an island of museums’, The Louvre Abu Dhabi was a decade in the making when it opened in 2017. Designed by French architect, Jean Nouvel, it has many stunning features, while making the most of energy and water efficiency in the UAE’s intense climate.
