Goodbye summer, hello open air venues and al fresco partying…
After what feels like an extra long summer, with September comes cooler weather, and that means partying at some amazing open-air and alfresco clubs across the city.
Some of Dubai’s legendary super clubs have been taking a hiatus over the summer season, but the arrival of September means things are kicking back off with a bang for their season opening parties. So, to keep your diaries up to date, we’re rounding up all the biggest and best season opening parties you need to know about.
Winter, we’ve missed you…
September
Drai’s Dubai
When: Friday, September 13
Drai’s Dubai, one of the city’s biggest and most popular clubs, will be throwing a grand season opening party on Friday September 13 with resident DJ’s providing entertainment and free drinks for ladies until 1am. And that’s just the start of the season. Thereafter, Drai’s will open every Tuesday for their ladies’ night, TASTE and the big parties kick off on Fridays with some massive headliners. With the super club having played host to a number of international stars last season including Jason Derulo, Big Sean and Wiz Khalifa, we’re confident we can expect the same calibre of performers this year.
Drai’s Nightclub, Gate B, Meydan, Tuesdays and Fridays from Friday September 13, 10pm to 4am. Tel: (052) 388 8857. draisdxb.com

Base Dubai
When: Thursday, September 19 and Friday, September 20
If you’re looking for some super-dramatic pyrotechnics, massive artists and nights to jump around to, then Base Dubai is a pretty safe bet. It’s officially been announced on their Instagram that their new season kicks off on not one, but two dates – Thursday, September 19 and Friday, September 20. We can’t wait to see what they do for it.
Base Dubai, Dubai Design District, D3, Dubai, opening Thursday, September 19 and Friday, September 20. Tel: (05) 3134 999. basedubai.com
White
When: Thursday, September 19
Over the weekend, legendary Dubai super club, White, announced that they would be reopening on Thursday September 19. The super club will open each week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday thereafter. The outdoor club has seen some big artists like French Montana, Nelly, Jason Derulo and Trey Songz performing there before so we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us this year. Expect some impressive light shows, top entertainment and some seriously roof-raising (if they had one) partying, worthy of one of Dubai’s most well-known clubs.
WHITE Dubai, Meydan Racecourse Grandstand, Thursday September 19. Tel: (050) 443 0933. whitedubai.com
Soho Garden
When: Thursday, September 19
Soho Garden is back on Thursday, September 19 with a fresh new outdoor look. Groove On The Grass
When: Friday, October 4
One of our favourite outdoor events Groove On The Grass are kicking off their eighth season on Friday, October 4. There’ll be live sets from headliner Acid Pauli, as well as Egyptian Lover, Viken Arman as headliners, Dephspace and AAYA. Tickets are on sale now on platinumlist.net from Dhs150.
Groove On The Grass, Emirates Golf Club, Dubai, 5pm to 3am, Friday October 4, from Dhs150. facebook.com/GrooveOnTheGrass
Sky2.0
When: October TBC
While we haven’t yet had a concrete confirmation of Sky 2.0’s opening, it’s likely to be early October. The massive club comes from the same people behind the famous Beirut Skybar, and opened in Dubai Design District earlier this year. Before it closed for the summer season, Sky 2.0 ran every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with some uber-cool themed nights including reggae-inspired ‘Oh Na Na’, a signature night on Thursday night, and a ‘Boom Box’ party on Fridays – so we wonder what they’re going to come up with for their second season.
Sky2.0, Dubai Design District, Dubai, 9pm to 4am, opening date TBC. Tel: (058) 633 3633. skydubai.com
TBC
Soho Beach DXB
When: TBC
Soho Beach DXB is expected to open in October for the new season. As well as for daytime pool partying, the venue will be bringing it’s incredible festivals back to the shores of Meydan next month. The venue have already confirmed we can expect another huge Elrow festival this season, with the date set to be revealed soon. Soho Beach hosted the likes of Solomun, Elrow and Glitterbox last season, so expect big things this year.
