Does your daily commute around involve using the metro? Well, if you use any of the stations connecting through Dubai Marina, your journey will soon become a little more stress-free.
Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) have just announced that they will be making improvements to three of the main Dubai Metro Red Line stations; Dubai Internet City Station, Damac Metro Station and the UAE Exchange Station.
The upgrade is part of the RTA’s five-year plan to enhance metro and marine transport stations across the city, which will improve commuter congestion during peak times and rush hours.

The Dubai Internet City Station will benefit from an additional western entrance and works will be undertaken to improve the connection between Damac Properties Metro Station and Dubai Marina Tram Station.
Bettering the experience for pedestrians and cyclists who use the services, other works around the terminals will include pedestrian crossings, covered rest areas, bicycle paths, signboards and smart initiatives, amongst other things.
As well as the three imminent upgrades, the RTA also announced that improvements will be made to 40 stations around Dubai in the next five years, by 2025.
HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the RTA Board of Directors, said, “the Authority started developing three stations on the red line of the Dubai Metro, namely: Dubai Internet City, Damac Properties and UAE Exchange, as well as improving the infrastructure around 5 metro stations; Al Rashidiya, JGC, Al Qiyada, Noor Bank and the Financial Center, along with two maritime transport stations – Dubai Water Canal Station and Sheikh Zayed Road Water Station”
Happy commuting!
