From Balearic beauties to new Mykonian hotspots…

Summer may be drawing to a close, but there’s still several weeks to squeeze the final weeks of summer out of these stunning European addresses.

Here are five hotels to book for a last minute summer getaway.

One of Bodrum’s most hotly anticipated new stays is now inviting guests to enjoy its dazzling slice of Turkish Riviera revie right through until the end of October. An elevated resort experience on the north shores, it features an impressive collection of all-suites and villas, built into the pretty cliffside in modern-looking buildings. Guests can dine at a string of six starry restaurants including Dubai-born The Maine (more on that later), plus Spago by Wolfgang Puck and Caviar Kaspia. A 4,500sqm wellbeing centre goes far beyond the spa basics, delivering a medi-spa experience across 20 treatment rooms, a Turkish bath, hydro and relaxation spaces.

Capri: Jumeirah Capri Palace

If a hotel were to personify its destination, few do it better than Jumeirah Capri Palace. Dubbed the white museum, it’s gloriously grand but in an understated way, its vast columns and whitewashed welcome spaces flood with natural light, dotted with bold artworks and lavish floral displays that are glamorous but not gaudy. The culinary offering is a fusion of the old and new. The rooftop has been transformed into a chic Japanese izakaya, with the influence of global powerhouse Zuma drawing guests from across the island. But the culinary jewel in the crown remains L’Olivo, the island’s only 2 Michelin Star restaurant. Then there’s the 68 guest rooms, each a sanctuary of contemporary island-inspired luxury and all coming with either sea or garden views. The hotel’s storied history – dating back some 60 years – is proudly played out in black and white photographs from the island’s yesteryear across the walls, and handmade ceramic tiles in patterns of white and blue ooze that quintessential southern Italian aesthetic. The hotel remains open until the end of November.

Ibiza: W Ibiza

Bringing its signature playful spirit to Santa Eulalia is W Ibiza, open this year until October. The vibrant property has added a touch of Ibiza pizazz and typical W flamboyance to this part of town, and the resulting hotel is a sophisticated party pad, while still feeling like you’re somewhat removed from the tourist throes. Guest check-in to spacious breezy rooms laced with Ibiza’s bohemian spirit, and the balconies all face inward to the Wet Deck pool, creating a space that ensures all guests feel like they’re in the heart of the action. Days can be enjoyed lazing by the pool, or soaking up the sun a short walk away at Yellow Fish beach club, a sea-facing Mediterranean restaurant with a chilled soundtrack and diverse menu of elevated tapas. The crowning feature, adults-only Glow Rooftop, further cements this hotel as one of the east coast’s most stylish spots, with bright orange loungers and a pool for soaking up the rays during the day, and a bar that shakes up refreshing sips as the sun goes down.

Monaco: Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo

Just a stone’s throw from the famed Monte-Carlo Casino, and directly next door to the Monaco outpost of Dubai’s homegrown restaurant success story, Gaia, this property is packed with prestige.  With just 128 rooms and suites, Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo feels exclusive without being stuffy. Our spacious Deluxe Junior Suite overlooks the central courtyard and the long driveway lined with supercars. The interiors reflect the heritage of the hotel, as warm neutral walls are accented with burnt orange curtains and cushions with a delicate floral pattern. In 2003, the late Karl Lagerfeld designed Odyssey, the hotel’s pool and alfresco restaurant, with its menu curated by chef Christophe Cussac. Throughout summer, chef Cussac has teamed up with talented founder-chefs, Manon Santini and Rocco Seminara, to bring the ZIA pop-up to Odyssey, which a special pizza menu served in a hidden garden at the far end of the pool. The property remains open until December 1.

Mykonos: Anandes

Coming from Dubai, a land of seven-star hotels and expansive decadence, it’s refreshing to experience a more tangible, quieter sort of luxury. That’s what you get at Anandes, a stunning new boutique hotel – with bleached bones and sophisticated minimalism at its ice-cool core, open until the end of September. It has a small gym, and shares a stunning sea view pool with the stunning La Petite Maison restaurant (who also curated the breakfast menu), but it’s the location that really adds a touch of true Mykonoan magic. High up on a hill, it looks over the sprawling white walls below and out towards the foaming broil of the Agean, a prime spot to absorb those billionaire sunsets the island is famous for. The rooms are sleek and dressed in cave-core chic, and it’s just a short toddle until you’re in town. However, if you have anything less than piston engine calves, you might want to consider a taxi ride back up that incline.
