And 2024 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship winner Paul Waring…

Taking place on Wednesday, November 27 at Arabian Ranches Golf Club – the Al Noor & 100 World Legends Golf Day is teeing up the chance for you to play with some genuine sporting heroes.

The charitable event has been created to raise funds for the Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination.

Trying times

The tournament will feature twenty-six teams of four. Each team will be allocated one member of the 100 World Legends, alongside three paying guests. Rounds will follow a ‘shotgun start’ format, which means play will start simultaneously for all teams on different holes.

Team entry is priced at Dhs4,000 (for a team of three) and in addition to playing alongside some of rugby union’s all-time greats, you’ll enjoy a catered dinner (with drinks) and the chance to pause and engage with all the 100 World Legends. There will also be the opportunity to bid on some exciting merch at a charity auction.

You can sign up for tickets on the esus.ae website.

Waring the colours

That’s not all, the organisers recently announced a ringer has entered the event. Big hitter, Paul Waring – winner of the 2024 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and 2018 Nordea Masters – will also be taking part. And if you’d like him on your team, you can now enter bids (starting at Dhs6,000) for a chance to trade shots with real fairway royalty.

Billboard 100

As mentioned above, your four-ball will be completed by one member from a select delegation of 100 World Legends. These veteran rugby stars will be limbering up for a very different type of ‘conversion’ at Arabian Ranches, swapping oval balls for small round ones.

The player list includes Colin Charvis (Wales/Lions); Rhys Webb (Wales/Lions); Shane Byrne (Ireland/Lions); Serge Betsen (France); Tamara Taylor ‍(England Womens); Apollo Perelini (Samoa); Norman Maxwell (New Zealand); Charles Riechelmann (New Zealand); Ofisa Tonu’u (New Zealand); Delon Armitage (England); Gareth Widdop (England/Great Britain League); David Corkery (Ireland); Jean-Baptiste Gobelet ‍(France); Bruce Reihana (New Zealand); Chris Masoe (New Zealand); Sam Tuitupou (New Zealand); Fergus Thomson (Scotland); Bryan Redpath (Scotland); Aaron Persico (Italy); Iwan Tukalo ‍(Scotland); Paul Sampson ‍(England); Nili Latu ‍(Tonga); and Frank Bunce ‍(New Zealand).

If you fancy rubbing shoulders (outside of the scrum) with these rugby greats, make sure you reserve your place today to avoid disappointment. Tickets are selling fast.
