This upcoming Dubai school to be one of the most expensive in the world with fees over Dhs200,000
We’re not making this up…
One of the world’s most expensive schools is coming to Dubai and we’re left wondering whether it’s possible to love your kid that much – enough to fork up Dhs200,000 worth of school fees.
GEMS School of Research and Innovation is all set to be one of the most expensive schools in the world, and if that isn’t the most Dubai thing you’ve ever heard, we don’t know what is.
Arguably the most fancy-pants school in the city, as and when it opens, the building will reportedly have incredible, state-of-the-art facilities including an elevated football field that doubles as a helipad (and parent drop-off point), an Olympic-sized swimming pool, an NBA-standard basketball court, an esports centre, a 400m Olympic running track and a 600-seat auditorium.
The campus, located in Dubai Sports City, is said to be worth 100 million dollars or Dhs367 million, and the fees structure will range from Dhs116,000 to Dhs206,000. The opening date is locked in for August and that’s when we’ll see what these cutting edge learning spaces are really about.

Virtual Reality will be used in the classrooms to give students a more immersive learning experience, such as for language development, giving children an opportunity to learn French and Spanish while transporting them to specific parts of those countries.
The school will open with foundation to year six for one year, and founding families will be receiving 20 per cent off tuition fees.
At the centre of learning at the school will be tech – the field to explore right now. Partnerships with tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, HP and Play Tech Centre will provide real-world learning opportunities to the students.
They will also have access to the Gems for Life Programme, which will allow them to connect with schools worldwide, participate in UNESCO conferences, become global ambassadors and get access to prestigious universities and top-tier employers.
