Palm Jumeirah is set to have its second Atlantis costing a whopping  Dhs 5.1billion.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has given the go-ahead for the construction of the new Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences by the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD).

Located on the crescent of The Palm, The Royal Atlantis Resort will stand next to the iconic Atlantis The Palm as a 46 storey, new generation of distinctive luxury that is said to offer an experience edgier than any resort in the region.

The Royal Atlantis Resort will consist of 800 rooms, suites and 250 luxurious hotel apartments, as well as recreational, entertainment and services facilities, from soaring private gardens and private infinity pools overlooking the ocean, to a Sky Pool, an ultra-pool with a variety of cutting-edge experiences and a beach club.

Features of the new project will include an approximate total investment of $1.4 billion in the resort expansion and amenities.

Sheikh Mohammed and the ICD also confirmed a number of other projects taking place over the coming three years, including One Za’abeel. Located between the Dubai World Trade Centre and Za’abeel Park, it will consist of two towers (residential and commercial) linked by a suspended bridge.

The ICD also confirmed that the first phase of a Dhs8 billion Dubai Waterfront mixed-use project is on track for completion by the end of 2016.
