Kasabian are the star turn at the second ever Blended Festival in Dubai when it returns over two nights in late Spring.
The Brit rockers lead the way on an impressive line-up for the event, which takes place at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on April 30 and May 1.
Joining the lads are soulful songstress Jessie Ware, R&B royalty in the shape of Craig David, and funky town legend Kool & The Gang, who themselves will be joined by Robin Thicke.
Last year’s event was dubbed – by no means negatively – ‘RedFest for grown-ups’ with the Joss Stone, Xavier Rubb, Elvis Costello, Diana Krall and Aloe Blacc rocking a considerably more mellow crowd at the same venue.
The diversity on this year’s bill will appeal to an even wider audience, though the vibe will remain, despite the presence of one of the most energetic and highly-regarded live acts on the rock circuit.

Kasabian, who this week picked up two awards at the NME awards for Best British Band and Best Rock Album, headlined last year’s Glastonbury Festival. And their appearance in Dubai comes with the unique addition of a classically trained string quartet, sure to heighten the senses during their epic anthems, like ‘Club Foot’, ‘Shoot The Runner’, ‘Empire’ and ‘Reason Is Treason’.
Away from the headline act, the elegant tones of Jessie Ware will ripple over the Amphitheatre for the very first time. The 30-year-old collaboration queen – SBTRKT, Ed Sheeran, Jack Penate, Florence And The Machine – has been on the circuit for around five years, but was elevated into the upper echelons of the pop world in 2014 following her the release of her second album, ‘Tough Love’, the follow up to debut ‘Devotion’. She has been nominated the Best Female Solo Artist at this year’s BRIT Awards.
Joining Jessie and Kasabian on Thursday’s bill is multi-platinum Craig David, performing a special stripped down sundowner acoustic set. Back in 1999 in the UK, it was pretty much a given you’d hear garage singer Craig David’s voice every time you went to a club or turned on a radio. He’s gone on to sell over 13 million records, including more than half on game-changing debut ‘Born To Do It’.
Turning to Friday, things get a little funkier when the legendary Kool & The Gang take to the stage. Timeless tracks like ‘Celebration’ and ‘Ladies Night’ have helped the group make an impression through the ages and contributed to a haul of 31 gold and platinum albums, each inspired by a fusion of funk, jazz and disco. They will be joined by Robin Thicke, who’s 2013 smash hit ‘Blurred Lines’ continues to infiltrate the airwaves the world over having struck top spot in more than 80 countries.
Completing Friday’s line up are Norwegian pair Nico & Vinz, who will bring new hits ‘Am I Wrong’ and ‘In Your Arms’.
Tickets start from priced from Dhs395 and are on sale from Monday February 23 at blended.ae and at all Virgin Megastores.
