Red Bull follow Tiger and Roger by taking over the Burj Al Arab
The real racing may have been taking place over in Abu Dhabi this weekend, but there was more than hint of the F1 glamour in Dubai as Infiniti Red Bull Racing took to one of the world’s most iconic locations last week.
To celebrate confirmation as constructors’ world champions, the team left their mark on the helipad at Burj Al Arab as one of it’s cars produced an awesome show of burning rubber and tire smoke more than 200 metres above the sea.
British racing legend David Coulthard was at the wheel as he sent the car into a stunning spin around the 24-metre wide pad, creating scorched marks on the ground with this ‘donuts’.
Speaking afterwards, he said: “That was a lot of fun. When Red Bull first suggested the idea to me I said ‘why not?’. I like getting involved with anything that pushes the boundaries and it’s what Red Bull stands for. I think this will produce fantastic, iconic shots in an amazing town and I’m really privileged to be part of it.”
He’s not wrong, as you can see from our gallery.
Coulthard joins of a pantheon of famous sport stars to strut their stuff on the world-famous hotel’s landing spot, including golfer Tiger Woods and tennis legends Andre Agassi and Roger Federer.
