American soft rock behemoths Toto and YouTube sensation Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox perform in Dubai on February 24, 2016.

Toto has been announced as the headline act for February’s Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival, the UAE’s longest running music event.

With more than 35 years together and thousands of credits and awards to their names, Toto remains one of the top selling touring and recording acts in the world. They recently released their first new studio album in ten years, Toto XIV, which debuted earlier this year in the top 10 in nine countries around the world.

The band famous for hits such as Africa, Rosanna, Hold the Line and I’ll Be Over You are no strangers to Dubai, or the festival itself, where they performed a sold out gig back in 2007.

 

“David Paich, Steve Porcaro, Joseph Williams, and I, alongside the entire Toto entourage look forward to taking the stage at the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival,” said Steve Lukather, frontman and band founder.

“As we travel the globe, this appearance is one that all of us have looked forward to for some time now. The set will feature a collection of repertoire that includes the hits alongside some of our favorite deep cuts.  We are as excited about this one as our fans over in Dubai are.”

According to Toto’s touring calendar, the rockers will be the festivals opening headliner, performing at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on Wednesday February 24.

News of the group’s addition to the bill is the first in a series of festival announcements, which are likely to be peppered throughout the rest of the year.

Chillout Productions also revealed that Toto’s opening act is YouTube sensation Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ).

These rotating collective of performers will bring a genre-busting, time-traveling musical experience, whose sound is best described as pop hits with a vintage twist.

 

With 1.5 million subscribers and counting, PMJ crosses musical boundaries and generations with their distinct take on songs originated by artists ranging from Ellie Goulding and John Legend to Maroon 5.
