Celebrate Peru's 'world leading' food with these two new brunches
Peruvian food is all the rage right now after the South American country was named as the World’s Leading Culinary Destination at the recent World Travel Awards, held in Doha, Qatar.
So to celebrate this, why not check out new recently launched brunches in Dubai, serving the best in Latin American cuisine.
Starting with the new kid on the block, the Story Rooftop Lounge in Media City, which has launched ‘A Different Story’ where diners can expect an explosion of Peruvian flavours, delicious cocktails and stunning views every Friday from 1–4pm for only Dhs299.
A real and eclectic venue that challenges Dubai’s stereotypical ‘bling bling’, the lounge, which has unrestricted views of the Arabian Gulf, has already become a firm favourite amongst residents and visitors alike since its launch last month.
Diners will find the likes of Anticucho de Conchos (scallops in olive oil, lemongrass, aji amarillo and coconut), Ceviche Nipon (snapper with leche de tigre, gari, yuzu, coriander and sesame oil), Spring Rolls de Lomo Saltado (beef tenderloin, soy sauce, red onion, vinegar and coriander rolled and fried) and Ensalada de Quinoa (avocado, lemongrass, olive oil, hummus, lime, cheese and quinoa salad) on the menu. And for those with a sweet tooth there is Keke de Yuca con Sorbete de Maracuya (cassava cake with passion fruit sorbet, cinnamon and star anise syrup) and Milhojas de Chocolate Crocante (chocolate tulips with pistachio cream and praline).
Over in the Dubai Marina, the Grosvenor House’s Pan Latin restaurant Toro Toro is paying homage to the lively family-style dining of Latin America with the Hola Hola Toro Toro brunch, with dishes envisioned by internationally-acclaimed chef Richard Sandoval. Guests can expect to find a range of small sharing plates which include lashings of guacamole, fresh and flavoursome ceviche dishes and yucca fries. An array of hot South American staples such as chorizo empanada’s, beef stuffed pastries; crispy calamari and salmon flatbreads with hot horseradish are also on offer, as is the churrasco grill with its premium cuts of chicken, lamb and beef, served by highly skilled passadors.
Hola Hola Toro Toro is available from 12.30pm-4pm every Friday at Dhs400 inclusive of bubbly and selected beverages and Dhs300 inclusive of soft beverages.
