With more than 6,000 stores taking part, it’s not hard to score a deal during Dubai Summer Surprises.

The 43-day event (which wraps up on August 20, FYI) is one of the shopping highlights of the year, and it’s not too late to find yourself a bargain.

Check out this list of offers to save yourself aimless wandering (but you can be pretty much guaranteed at least 20 per cent off selected lines at any shop you walk into at any mall). There’s also a programme of activities to keep the kids entertained, raffles to enter, and even live shows held inside malls (click here for more details).

However we’ve weeded through the schedule to bring you 10 of the best DSS offers around.

 1. H&M BEAUTY

OK so the Swedish chain store’s products aren’t the priciest to begin with, but hey – we love a freebie. If you buy two beauty products from H&M, you’ll get a third free (the cheapest one, natch). The brand’s nail polishes are particularly swoonworthy, and their beauty tools (sponges, eyelash curlers etc) are pretty excellent dupes for high-end versions, but about a fifth of the price. (Beauty nuts, you’ll also be pleased to hear you’ll get a free gift if you spend over Dhs500 at Sephora during DSS).

2. DUBAI DUTY FREE

You can currently get 5 per cent off on thousands of products at the Duty Free halls in Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport. (And that’s on top of what you already save without duty). If you’re not jetting off anywhere this month, you can still get the discount online – there’s more than 3,000 products to choose from. Some exclusions apply though, so it’s worth scanning the Ts & Cs beforehand.

3. PANDORA

There’s a buy two, get one free offer at the jeweller’s on selected items – but you’ll have to be quick, the deal is only on until August 10. You have to be in store to see what the selected items are (so sorry, no online window shopping) but we’re hoping it includes a few of the brand’s signature silver charm bracelets. They make excellent gifts so now might be a good time to get a headstart on your mum, sister or wife’s birthday…

4. LEVEL SHOES

We often struggle to justify designer shoes to ourselves (well, to our bank managers) but up to 70 per cent off seems like a good reason to splurge. As part of the shop’s summer sale, you can choose from killer heels by Aquazzura, Sophia Webster and Burberry, sneakers from Ash and Superga, and plenty more.

5. ACTIVITIES AT THE DUBAI MALL

If you’re seeking solutions to filling your child’s summer holiday, this bundle pack should come in handy. 6. MARKS AND SPENCER

You can kit the whole family out for less with the M&S summer sale. With 30 to 50 per cent off selected men’s, women’s and kids’ lines, now’s a good time to finally update those workwear staples, treat yourself to some new undies, or replace those plate and cutlery sets that somehow always seem to dwindle.

7. JUMBO

If gadgets and gizmos and the like are your thing, you’ll like this one. You can save up to Dhs1,633 on bundle product offers in store, and the online deals aren’t too shabby either – think up top Dhs200 off smartphones and up to Dhs400 off Sony TVs.

8. ALPHA OPTICAL

Misplaced your specs (happens to us all), outgrown your prescription, or bent your current pair out of all recognition?
