Like 90s music? Then you'll love this nostalgic brunch
First we discovered we were going to get our 80s fix when it was announced that Madness are coming to Dubai.
But Nineties music fans haven’t been left out of the fun either, because ultimate one-hit-wonder Chesney Hawkes is coming to town next month for an intimate gig over brunch.
In an event organised with Yalumba, The One And Only crooner will take part in Wow That’s What I Call Brunch at Le Meridien Dubai’s Great Ballroom on September 2.
Hawkes was 19 when his hit single shot into the UK No 1 spot, and he’s since taken part in several reality shows, and performed in a London West End show.
The singer-songwriter will be joined on the day by No Mercy (of Where Do You Go and Please Don’t Go fame) and Rozalla (the ones behind earworm Everybody’s Free).

It’s basically your standard 90s compilation live in person.
Brunch will be held from 1pm to 4pm, and costs Dhs495 per person (and that includes bottomless vintage champagne, how fancy.)
Happy hour will then be held for, well, three hours from 4pm to 7pm, but the party will continue well into the night under the direction of DJ Tim Cheddar, so we’re expecting lots of excellent cheesy tracks.
It’s the first of Yalumba’s series of retro-themed brunches, so expect further trips down memory lane soon.
