Sad that Global Village is closed for the season? Don’t be, Summer Bazaar is here to fill your treasure-hunting void

One of the highlights of Dubai’s winter calendar has to be heading to Global Village and rummaging through the various stalls, finding a random knick-knack or treasure to take home with you.

Sadly, the massive cultural park is only open for four months of the year due to it being outdoors. That leaves a large chunk of the summer months where we’re left without anywhere to go if one wants to partake in a spot of cultural indulgence.

That is until now. Summer Bazaar is a new pop-up cultural market currently taking place at Hall 7 of Dubai World Trade Centre until 4 September. And yes, that means it’s air-conditioned.

Visitors can expect to find a host of handicrafts and artisanal items from a variety of countries including China, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, UAE, Yemen and more.

There will also be a selection of international cuisines available for those interested in trying new flavours, as well as clothing, jewelery, beauty products and toys for children.

Entry is free and organisers promise an experience that is more akin to bargain-hunting through a traditional souq or market than the glitzy five-star shopping malls we’ve all grown accustomed to.

For more info visit the Summer Bazaar Facebook page.
