Watch a Dhs10 million supercar speed down a Dubai airport runway
The Bugatti Chiron can hit a top speed of over 370 km/h
The car connoisseurs from popular television programme Top Gear have posted a video to their YouTube channel that shows them taking the state-of-the-art Bugatti Chiron supercar to its limits at various locations around Dubai.
The Chiron is Bugatti’s successor to its famous Veyron model that the programme had previously named ‘Car of the Decade’ in 2010.
In the eight-minute video, presenter Chris Harris takes to the windy, picturesque roads leading up to Jebel Hafeet to show off the Chiron’s laundry list of powerful features including a 1,500 horsepower engine and a quad turbocharged engine.
Not content to stop there, Harris then heads to the runway at Dubai World Central airport to test the car’s top driving speed – an impressive 236 mph (379 km/h). During this exhilarating race down the runway (complete with Emirates plane in the background) he explains that maintaining tyre pressure is critical when travelling at this kind of speed, remarking “I think they call that ‘engineering'”, when he hits the top speed and takes one hand off the steering wheel, demonstrating the car’s superior handling.
If you’re as impressed as us by the Chiron in the video, you might be keen to know what this sort of supercar is liable to set you back. How does a cool Dhs10.75 million sound? Yeah, we’ll stick to just ogling at one in the Bugatti showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road, thank you very much.
