Another great initiative for the Year of Giving.

Patients unable to afford healthcare will soon have access to free treatment at several private hospitals and clinics in Dubai.

As part of the UAE’s Year of Giving, the Dubai Health Authority has launched a Giving and Happiness initiative, which aims to support those with “limited means”.

Dr Marwan Al Mulla, director of health regulation, said 10 private health facilities have already signed on to take part in the initiative.

He added there had been “notable interest” from other private providers wanting to help, and the number of participating health facilities was likely to increase to 26.

In addition to the free treatments, other health services would be provided at a more affordable cost, he said.

Patients must meet certain criteria to be eligible for the free treatment, details of which are expected to be released soon. We’ll also let you know as soon as we have the full list of participating hospitals and clinics.
