Classical music concert to take performing to new heights...literally
The one-off concert will take place on Jebel Jais, the UAE’s highest mountain peak…
The Ras Al Kaimah tourist board has announced a very special concert next month, scheduled to take place on top of Jebel Jais, the country’s tallest mountain.
On Friday 27 October, award-winning Czech musician and film composer Michal Dvořák will bring his critically acclaimed show Vivaldianno – City of Mirrors to a purpose-built stage set a dizzying 1,600 meters above sea level.
The show combines the iconic music of Antonio Vivaldi (he of The Four Seasons fame) with a 3D visual effects and light show that will no doubt look epic set against the backdrop of the UAE skyline.
“We are retaining the original score while adding modern instruments the way Antonio himself might have included them. The show strives to enforce and emphasise the original music in a contemporary means of expression,” Dvořák noted in a statement describing what audiences can expect from the show that will also feature a full orchestra made up of musicians from around the globe.
Tickets start at Dhs300 and concert organisers will be providing a complimentary shuttle bus service to the mountaintop venue from the RAK Convention Centre on Marjan Island, Al Hamra Convention Centre and Hilton Garden inn, Ras Al Khaimah.
