To gain entry to the city’s public parks, residents must use Nol cards according to Municipality officials

Dubai’s major public parks which charge a Dhs5 entry fee, will now only be accessible by Nol card payment.

According to a report by Gulf News, Dubai Municipality officials confirmed that parks will no longer issue paper tickets.

Nol, the smart payment system used across Dubai’s public transport network, will now be the only way to pay for entry at Zabeel Park, Al Mamzar Beach Park, Mushrif Park and Creek Park according to the report.

For those who don’t already have one, Nol cards are purchasable for Dhs25, with a Dhs6 activation fee and Dhs19 balance to be redeemed on the card.

The exact cost of entry into the park that will be deducted from each Nol card is expected to remain the same, at Dhs5.

Cards can then be recharged at the park’s counters or Nol card vending machines to be placed on site next year.

According to the same report however, tourists visiting the city for a few days will be exempt from the Nol card purchase, although those visiting with relatives who live in the UAE will not.

The announcement is in line with Dubai’s larger plan to go paper free and implement smart services across the city.
