Equal pay is on the way in the UAE
Draft legislation has just been approved…
The UAE has endorsed a bill which will guarantee equal pay for men and women.
The Law on Equal Wages and Salaries for Men and Women will ensure women have equal opportunities in the UAE’s development, and are empowered to lead future national strategies and ambitious projects, according to state media agency Wam.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president of the UAE, announced the draft law on Twitter: “There are no exceptions in providing equal opportunities between the sexes,” the ruler of Dubai said.
“Our Constitution ensures equal rights among the sexes and we seek to enforce and guarantee this right through the new law.”
