Dust storms continue to lash Dubai
If you can, stay indoors…
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned those who suffer from asthma and allergies to stay indoors as dust storms continue to sweep the UAE.
Residents first woke up to murky skies on Thursday morning. While the sand cleared on Friday, it started to return on Saturday – and by this morning, it had whipped up into a full-blown dust storm.
The NCM has advised the public to take “extra precaution” on the roads during this time. It also said people with asthma or allergies should avoid exposure to the dust.

The NCM reported dust over most areas of the country, including Dubai International Airport, Al Maktoum International Airport, Sharjah Airport and Fujairah Airport.
Here’s a satellite image that shows the incoming dust:

Today’s temperatures are expected to reach 38-43C in coastal areas and 42-47C in internal areas.
Dust particles can lead to ear infections, eye infections, colds, coughs, and other respiratory problems. If you find yourself coughing, wheezing, or feeling short of breath, you should see a doctor right away.
