Finding parking in Dubai is about to get a lot easier in these areas
RTA have rolled out a smart parking system on over 3000 spaces…
If you drive around the Deira or Trade Centre areas, we have good news: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have introduced a new type of smart parking technology which will help drivers find a parking space more easily.
The technology, which uses 2030 ground sensors and 70 overhead digital cameras, will cover 3035 spaces in Al Rigga and Dubai World Centre, along the extension of Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) areas.
It works via a central control system, which will display information to drivers about where there are spaces available. Users can quickly identify vacant parking slots either through the Find Parking service on the RTA App, or 13 parking variable electronic boards.

Eng. Maitha bin Adai, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, said “The system involves sophisticated technologies like ground sensors and digital cameras to monitor the usage of parking through detecting vacant slots and instantly transmitting information to the central system for display onto the information signs and the smart app.”
“It makes it easy for users and saves them the hassles of finding parking slots, as it saves 20 to 30 per cent of the time spent in searching for a parking in conventional parking areas. The smart parking system reduces traffic accidents and congestions and saves about 8 minutes in the search for parking,” he added.
