Massive 21 screen Cinepolis cinema to open in Meydan

The supersized new cinema will open in Meydan One mall in 2020…

A huge new cinemaplex is set to open in Dubai’s soon-to-open Meydan One mall next year.  The first of its kind in Dubai, Cinépolis will have 21 screens as well as a luxury lounge.

The cinema will offer the ultimate luxury experience, complete with leather reclining chairs, call buttons, and adjustable tables. Cinépolis also has some seriously cool theatre concepts including 4D E-Motion, which gives viewers a chance to ‘live the experience’ with motion seats and special effects.

For a screen three times the size of normal, check out the Macro XE auditoriums, or treat the little ones to a VIP experience with Cinépolis Junior, which includes a jungle gym, bean bag seating, and a 15-minute break halfway through each film.

In terms of snacks (also known as the most important part of any cinema experience) you can expect popcorn, nachos, paninis, pizzas, crêpes, smoothies and coffee from Coffee Tree. There will also be a VIP option with a gourmet menu and in-theatre waiter service.

Cinépolis already has theatres in Bahrain and Oman, with six due to open in Saudi Arabia soon. The Mexican cinema chain is hugely popular in Latin America and this will be its the first launch the UAE.

Spanning almost 1.5 million square metres, Meydan One mall will be home to an array of shops, restaurants and some epic entertainment facilities when it opens in the second half of 2020.

And as well as the already announced plans for a 1km indoor ski slope, Crystal Lagoon with 500 metres of beaches and a water park and a 380-metre-long dancing fountain, Meydan Malls announced earlier this year that the new mall will also be home to a 4000-square-metre electric go-karting track.
