Taking care of a stray cat? Neuter it for free with this initiative
All you need to do is register…
If you’re a cat lover, you most likely will have a stray that you feed and take care of. However, why not take it a step further to help bring down the stray cat population in Dubai. And it won’t cost you a dirham.
‘How?’ you ask. Well, Royal Canin UAE is hosting a free initiative where they will spay or neuter a stray cat that you bring in for free. All you need to do is take the feral to Petzone Veterinary Clinic on Sheikh Zayed Road from November 17 to 19.
You will need to register beforehand on Petzone Veterinary Clinic or Royal Canin UAE.
Do note though, you can only bring in one cat per person. Registration will open today on Tuesday, November 10.
The kind gesture is known as TNR and is one of many ways Royal Canin UAE is giving back to society.

What’s TNR?
TNR stands for Trap-Neuter-Release. It is a humane and effective way to tackle the feline population.
After securing the cat in a humane trap, the cat is either spayed or neutered. They will then spend some time at the clinic to recover.
After the cat will be released back to its colony, the cat will no longer be able to procreate. This is how the size of the cat colonies decline over time.

Before they are released back to their colony, however, they will have a top of their ear snipped – a universal sign that the cat has been neutered.
This year alone, 240 TNR procedures in cats have already been carried out at Petzone Veterinary Clinic.
