An Oktoberfest-style festival is coming to Dubai this weekend
May Fest is bringing you all of those Oktoberfest vibes…
October is still five months away and if you’re anxiously awaiting all of the feasting and festivities that come with world-famous German festival, Oktoberfest, there’s a bit longer to go. Until now, that is. Say hello to May Fest, which is kicking off this weekend.
The two-day festival will take place at new DIFC gastropub Hidden Hog on Thursday, May 13 (German Father’s Day) and Saturday, May 14 from 12pm to 3am. Expect to tuck into some authentic German dishes and drinks.
There will be a special a la carte menu with German speciality dishes such as bratwurst, chicken schnitzel, slow-cooked braised beef, and mixed bread baskets with freshly prepared pretzels and rye wheat loaf, which are all perfect for sharing.
The European-influenced restaurant opened back in February 2021 promising its customers a relaxed atmosphere in the heart of DIFC, with plenty of deals such as a huge full English breakfast for Dhs35, a business lunch and more.
A visit here will find you dining in a minimalistic setting with oak flooring and panelled walls. The cuisine on the normal menu is European with dishes such as traditional charcuterie, slow cooked ribs lathered in smoky BBQ sauce, Parma croquettes and sous vide cheeks.
Hidden Hog has enlisted the help of Big Rossi from the Virgin Radio breakfast show to host its new quiz, Big Rossi’s Big Fat Quiz Night. Kicking off on Tuesday May 25 and running on the last Tuesday of each month until July, quiz fans can join in teams of four or more.
