Abu Dhabi is getting a luxe Mondrian hotel next year
Leveling up the capital’s staycation scene…
Abu Dhabi’s luxury hotel scene is getting a sprinkling of design-led excellence, as Mondrian Hotels is set to open a stunning property in the capital. The Mondrian Abu Dhabi, officially announced today, Monday March 20, will open on the canal front in Downtown Abu Dhabi.
Mondrian Hotels are known for their dazzling design and local-first approach, which is exactly what you can expect from this jaw-dropping waterfront property. Although we’ll have to wait until next year to check-in to Mondrian Abu Dhabi, it’s set to be worth the wait, with a visually breathtaking collection of rooms and suites, and mouthwatering selection of restaurants.
The exciting new hotel will feature 221 rooms and 80 serviced apartments, with first renders showcasing contemporary and light design in shades of copper and creams, with curves and textures aplenty. Six restaurants and bars will entice foodies, pampering will await at an elegant spa, plus a kids’ club, retail area and fitness facility will ensure there’s something for all.
Among the more show-stopping facilities, Mondrian Abu Dhabi will be home to a crystal clear lagoon complete with mesmerising skyline views. Whether sipping a fruity drink while soaking up the sun, making a splash at the infinity pool, or reclining on a day bed that flanks the water’s edge, it’s set to be a stylish spot to see and be seen in the capital.
Abu Dhabi’s new Mondrian property is one of a number of exciting new openings for the brand in the region. Mondrian’s existing portfolio of seven hotels, which currently includes Doha in the region, will also be enhanced with further openings in Riyadh in 2026, and Dubai at a later stage.
New Abu Dhabi hotels
Alongside Mondrian, Abu Dhabi’s hotel scene will level up in the coming years with a string of exciting new additions. Later this year, guests will be able to check-in to a new dreamy desert resort from Marriott, Liwa Hotel, Autograph Collection, Abu Dhabi. In 2024, a new island resort will invite guests to enjoy Maldives-style getaways as LXR Hotels & Resorts opens an 80-villa escape on Al Nawras Island. Then in 2026, a Nobu restaurant, a beach club, luxurious hotel and chic branded residences will all open on the scenic Mamsha beach on Saadiyat island, forming part of the cultural and culinary hub of Saadiyat Grove.
