Cricket fans in the UAE, take note! The Women’s T20 World Cup kicks off in the UAE on October 3, 2024. The matches were originally set to take place in Bangladesh but were shifted to the UAE.

Now in its ninth edition, fans can catch the matches at Dubai and Sharjah stadiums from Thursday, October 3 to 20, 2024.

The Women’s T20 World Cup will showcase 10 teams battling it out on the grounds to see who will make it to the finals to raise the coveted trophy.

Here’s everything you need to know before the games begin.

The Groups

Teams are split into two groups, Team A which consists of Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka; and Group B which includes Bangladesh, England, Scotland, South Africa, West Indies.

Each team will meet each other in a single round-robin with the top two teams from each group making it to the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-final matches will meet each other in the finale on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

Tickets

If you’re an avid follower of cricket and want to go support your team, you can get your tickets for just Dhs5 on platinumlist.net. You will be able to purchase a maximum of eight tickets, but you can make multiple purchases. There are no seat selections, and are available on a first-come first-serve basis. It could get crowded, so ensure you arrive early to get good seats. Gates will open three hours before the match start time.

Do note, that a single ticket allows you to watch both matches at the same venue on the same day.

If tickets are not sold out, you will be able to purchase tickets at the gate.

Women's T20 World Cup 2023 winner

In 2023, Australia won their sixth and third consecutive title after beating the hosts South Africa in the final by 19 runs.

Way to go ladies! We can’t wait to see who will walk home with the trophy this year.
