6 things to do in Abu Dhabi this weekend
We’ll be watching Lion King… What about you?
Counting down to the weekend so you can fill it with fun stuff? We hear you!
From ugly crying at the Lion King (you know which scene I’m talking about) to brunching at Hakkasan to zipping around Yas Kartzone, there’s something to suit all tastes over the weekend here in the capital.
Here’s a list of things to do in Abu Dhabi this weekend:
1. Watch the Lion King
It is time. We here at What’s On couldn’t wait for this one to come out and we’re sure we aren’t the only ones. The ‘live action’ version of The Lion King is one of the most anticipated Disney remakes of all time. For those of you who haven’t seen the 1994 Disney animated film – the story follows young lion cub, Simba who is next in line for the throne after his father, Mufasa. After the murder of Mufasa by Simba’s jealous and throne hungry Uncle Scar the young lion prince flees his kingdom, only to learn the true meaning of responsibility and bravery. The movie is finally out and we’ve already got our tickets booked. What about you?
Lion King is out in cinemas across UAE
2. Kayak around Louvre Abu Dhabi at night
If you’re looking for something unique to do this summer, consider booking yourself in for a night kayaking session around The Louvre in Abu Dhabi. The Louvre is operating tours during the daytime as well though, but you can now experience the iconic building from a whole new perspective while under the stars on the Arabian Seas. It’s the perfect alternative now the summer heat is in full swing. During the 60-minute kayaking tour, you will learn about the exquisite Louvre architecture while being accompanied by a professional instructor from Sea Hawk. Tickets for experience cost Dhs126 per person.
