Fancy a film? The movies out in Dubai cinemas this week
Our top pick of the movies out in cinemas this week is Doctor Strange, the latest addition to the Marvel universe, starring Benedict Cumberbatch…
Here are all the new flicks you’ll be able to go see from today…
Doctor Strange
At this point, Marvel can do no wrong – they did, after all, make us root for a gun-toting raccoon and a talking tree in Guardians of the Galaxy – so we have high hopes for Doctor Strange. That’s Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), a world famous neurosurgeon who loses the use of his hands in a car accident. He flies to Kathmandu in search of alternative medicine and is drawn into a world of mystic, space shifting monks led by the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton). Expect spectacular special effects and the usual Cumberbatch charm.
Trolls
An sweet and surprisingly funny film from the makers of Shrek, Trolls has a seriously starry cast that includes Zooey Deschanel, Russell Brand, James Corden and Gwen Stefani. Our hero is Branch (Justin Timberlake), the only grumpy troll in the kingdom of the ridiculously chirpy Princess Poppy (Anna Kendrick). It’s up to the two of them to fend off an attack from the Bergens, a gang of monsters who believe that eating trolls with bring their happiness.

Under the Shadow (Farsi)
If you didn’t get enough of a horror fix over Halloween, Under The Shadows will leave you suitably spooked. The debut film from Iranian director Babak Anvari made a huge splash at Sundance earlier this year. Shideh (Narges Rashdi) is living alone with her daughter while her husband is away fighting in the war. When the house is hit by a war missile, it seems to unleash malevolent spirits who will stop at nothing to torment the family. A must-see for horror fans.
Also out this week:

– Captain Fantastic
– American Pastoral
– The 9th Life of Louis Drax
– Bouget Faqarah (Arabic)
