Snapped: Celebrities spotted in the UAE this week
Because let’s be honest, we all love a bit of celebrity goss…
Dubai is quickly becoming the mini-break and stopover favourite for the world’s rich and famous.
With so many A-listers (and B-, C- and D-listers) visiting the glittering emirate every day, we bring you a weekly round up of who was spotted where.
So if you were wondering who to keep an eye out for when you’re down at Dubai Mall, we’ve thrown together a list of some of the famous faces in Dubai and the UAE this week…
Guns N’ Roses
The iconic rock band is performing in Dubai for the first time on Friday – will you be moshing along with Slash and Axl Rose? Anyway, here’s a snap of the plane that brought the legends down to our very own Paradise City…
Susan Holmes-McKagan
The American model and wife of Guns N’ Roses bass guitarist Duff McKagan has come along for the tour, and shared this pic upon arriving at a private jet terminal in Dubai… before hopping into a waiting Rolls Royce. So rock ‘n’ roll.
Enrique Iglesias
The Latin heartthrob charmed concert-goers at the Dubai Jazz Festival on Friday night, snapping selfies with the crowd and even pulling one lucky Saudi fan up onstage for a rousing rendition of Stand By Me. Of course, the moment everyone was waiting for came when the tight-tshirt-clad singer pulled out his number one hit for the encore – Hero. And yes, it did take our breath away.
Mariah Carey
What else did the diva get up to while in Dubai for the Jazz Festival? Well, after her show on Thursday night she was snapped at Bistrot Bagatelle in the Fairmont Hotel. She also visited Rashed Belhasa (aka Money Kicks), a fashion designer and the son of one of the wealthiest businessmen in the UAE. Here’s a video of Mariah feeding a tiger cub (named after her, obvs) at the family farm.
Manchester City FC
The squad enjoyed a night out in Abu Dhabi recently, and took the opportunity to visit the restaurant of Nusret Gokce – better known as Salt Bae. Naturally the players attempted their best impressions of the infamous chef, sprinkling imaginary flakes of salt with surprising grace and elegance.
Ragheb Alama
Lebanese singer, TV personality and philanthropist Ragheb Alama is an absolute superstar in the Arab world (you could say he’s kind of like Lebanon’s Bono). He was in Dubai this week performing a gig at Billionaire Mansion, and shared this classic Burj Khalifa snap.
Kathy Reichs
In town for the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, the best-selling crime writer found some time for a different kind of thrill – a camel ride.
