The Chemical Brothers are coming to What's On Party in the Park
Hey boy, hey girl…
Earlier this month we dropped the news that Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher will be headlining our very own What’s On Party in the Park festival (playing a set consisting of 50 per cent Oasis songs, no less) when it returns to Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on Friday 10 November.
We can now reveal that he will be joined by none other than UK electronica legends The Chemical Brothers, performing a very special DJ set that will span the length and breadth of their illustrious career (you can buy tickets here).
The Mancunian duo of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons started from humble beginnings in 1989 and rose to prominence in the 1990s alongside contemporaries The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim to reshape popular music, helping bring big beat and electronica to the mainstream.
They’ve since gone on to nab six number one albums in the UK, and 13 top 20 singles, plus they’ve netted no less than four Grammy awards including ‘Best Dance/Electronic Album’ for their 2006 record Push the Button.
The Chemical Brothers are the second of many acts to be announced at the family-friendly, multi-stage music extravaganza that will feature a full day of live music, market stalls, food trucks and more.
They will play after Liam Gallagher, so you’ll be able to close off the night with some serious dancefloor work post-Oasis singalongs.

Are you as pumped as we are? Check out this selection of our favourite cuts from the Chemical Brothers’ expansive discography:
The second single from their 1997 breakthrough album Dig Your Own Hole, Block Rockin’ Beats topped the UK singles chart and went on to win a Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
Also from that same album, this track features the other Gallagher brother, Noel, on vocal duties. Fun fact: the lyrics are based on an old Oasis song called Comin’ On Strong.
Originally released as the lead single from the duo’s 1999 album Surrender, this catchy number was a total club anthem back in its hey day.
Galvanize won a Grammy in 2006 for Best Dance Recording. It features a distinct Moroccan Chaabi string sample and rapping from A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip.
What’s On Party in the Park, 2pm to midnight, Friday November 10, Dubai Media City Amphitheatre. More info on website.
